Getting around A Coruña

Getting around A Coruña is easy: there's a great public transport system with plenty of buses, and you'll always find a taxi readily available.

You can pedal your way around A Coruña using the cycle lane, or explore the city on foot, the healthiest and most sustainable way to enjoy your visit in the open air.

On foot

Without a doubt, the best way to get around the city is to walk. A Coruña is a great city to get to know on foot.

Distances between tourist attractions are relatively short, and both the promenade and the city centre are inviting places for a pleasant stroll.

Bicycle

A Coruña is an ideal city for getting around by bicycle. It currently has a network of more than 35 km of cycle lanes, of which more than 13 km are on the seaside promenade, where you can enjoy cycling while soaking up the sea breeze.

Along the seaside promenade, there are several bike rental and sustainable transport services. If you plan to stay for a while, you can even become a member of BiciCoruña and get monthly or yearly access to bicycles with the Millenium Card.

Bus

If you need to get from one side of the city to the other, the best option is always a bus. A Coruña's signature red buses are part of the cityscape and will take you anywhere you want to go.

In the iTranvias app or on the Tranvías website (that's the name of the bus company in A Coruña), you can find all the information you need to plan your route or find out how long before the bus arrives in real time.

Taxi

If you want to get where you're going directly, comfortably and conveniently, taxis will always be there to help. You have two options: you can either phone for a taxi or catch one at one of the taxi ranks around the city.

Car

Once in A Coruña, you have several options for getting around. Driving is one of the options, but bear in mind that most of the central streets are for pedestrians or residents only, as is the whole of the Old Town.
